Mr. Mohammed Dukuly is the President
of the Federation of
Liberian Mandingo
Associations in the USA (FELMAUSA)
whose peace-making skills
were put to test in Phoenix,
Arizona recently.
He flew over more than 2000 miles and
landed safely in Phoenix, where he was
blissfully received by some community
leaders, who needed someone to bring the
community together under one roof to
trash their differences.
President Dukuly took the challenge.
Indeed his proficiency and understanding
in resolving dispute worked well when he
successfully resolved whatever
stalemate, thus bringing some smiles to
the young FELMAUSA community.
In email messages to President Dukuly
from community members in Phoenix, Mr.
Alieu Keita thanked the FELMAUSA Chief
and others that were involved in the
peace-making drive.
“I thank you and any one that were
involved in search for a peaceful
conclusion in solving of our differences
in the so-called
Arizona misunderstanding that was about
to disrupt the relatively unity among
our members,” Mr. Keita wrote.
Brother Keita extolled President
Dukuly for taking time off his busy
schedule to mediate in the conflict. “We
are very much grateful that he (Dukuly)
made it here and turned the tide in the
favor of peace and I hereby declare the
mission successfully accomplished.”
Another community leader Lasana Kamara
of Arizona wrote President Dukuly,
saying “I am happy you have landed
safely with no hardship. May Allah
reward you with your good intention you
took to come from East to West and make
sure to settle our differences here in
Arizona.”
Brother Kamara continued, “Brother,
you have completely convinced me that
you are the right man to lead us in
prosperity. Your honesty gave me a lot
of hope. You have motivated me so much
with your language. Mr. President you
are a great man because your love,
loyalty, and dedication in your heart
and these are the very qualities that
bind all of humanity to each other…”
The FELMAUSA Chief was overwhelmed by
the peaceful manner in which the
mediation process was handled. He adds,
“Your over all deportment and
cooperation all through the process of
finding a very amicable solution to the
situation in Arizona truly exhibited the
hallmarks of a genuine person and
wonderful leader.”
The President furthered, “I’m
extremely honored. Insha'Allah, with
your continual guidance and support,
we'll move this community to higher
heights."
