Amara Konneh Named Minister Of Planning And Economic Affairs In Liberia

Amara M. Konneh, former Deputy Chief of Staff for Public Affairs at the Ministry of State becomes Minister of Planning and Economic Affairs. FPA can now confirmed that Konneh has been named Minister of Planning and Economic Affiars.

FrontpageAfrica news website has learned that Amara Konneh, who recently completed a one year study at Harvard University is being considered to replace McIntosh as Minister of Planning and Economic Affairs in Liberia.

 

In addition to being credited for contributing to the process of change and renewal in Liberia and being President Sirleaf's close and confidante, Konneh, Executive Mansion sources say brings special skill set to the job of analyzing data for policymaking, the key statutory mandate of the Ministry of Planning. 

 

Before joining the Sirleaf administration, Konneh worked as a systems analyst and business systems engineer for 8 years at the Vanguard Group of Investment Companies in Valley Forge, PA.

 

Konneh began his career in 1991 with the International Rescue Committee as Refugee Education Coordinator in Guinea, West Africa. In this capacity, he led the implementation of education response for Liberian and Sierra Leonean refugee students in Beyla Prefecture, Guinea.

 

Konneh later worked as a systems analyst with IFM Efector, a sensor and controls manufacturer in Exton, PA before moving to the Vanguard Group. He also has a Master's Degree in Information Systems from Penn.
