President-Elect Musa Kamara: "I
will work with everyone to move
MMA forward." |
The
Minnesota Mandingo Association, MMA, has elected Musa Kamara
as its new President.
Mr.
Kamara, whose presidential position was uncontested, is
expressing happiness for his preferment and he is promising
to work in the best interest of the organization.
He says
efforts to augment plans by past administrations will be the
hallmark of the day while his office will remain open for
constructive ideas that will move the organization forward.
In his
victory remarks, Mr. Kamara lauded his supporters as well as
his campaign manager Al Donzo, alias “Chris D” for their
gallant support aimed at bringing him to power.
He is
however emphasizing the need to incorporate few members of
past regimes noting that this is one way the organization
will achieve its goals.
President Kamara made the comment over the weekend at
programs marking the Minnesota Mandingo Association’s
general election held at the Center for Family Services on
3333 Fourth Street in North Minneapolis, Minnesota.
Striving
for the Vice Presidential position was former MMA web master
Mohammed Bah, who could not meet up to the challenge, but
reclined to his rival Abraham Turay 20 to 24 thereby making
Mr. Turay Vice President of the Minnesota Mandingo
Association.
Lassana
Kromah was elected Financial Secretary while the position of
Secretary General remains open. Reports indicate that the
outgoing administration led by Mr. Ishmael Komara, will meet
with the new leadership in about few days to determine the
fate of the Secretary General post.
Vakaba
Kouyateh, who vied for the post of Secretary General, did
not show up at the elections. No one knows why and he has
not made any public statement as to his reason for staying
away. He could not be reached up to the publication of this
report. During the elections, no vote was cast in favor of
Kouyateh, which is clearly indicated in the vote records.
In a
related development, the King Sao Bosso Kamara Lecture
Series, first of its kind to be held in Minnesota has been
characterized as triumphant indeed and the visiting Guest
Speaker of the Lecture Series, Assistant Information
Minister of Liberia, Hon. Abu Kamara has won the minds and
soul of Minnesotans from his presentation.
Details
will follow in subsequent stories.
