Dr. Konneh
I regret to
learn that there appears to be division within the
organization of Mandingo peoples. It is in this context that
I am writing to appeal to all concerned.
We must put
aside our differences for the greater good of the
organization no matter what those differences may be.
While we
must recognize that differences can also be viewed as our
strength, it is only by discussing these differences that we
come to better understanding that can shape our future
directions.
There is an
African proverb that says “All children born of the same
mother do not always think alike.” Thus, it is expected that
from time to time differences may emerge among us.
Therefore, it is the duty of the leadership to reconcile
these differences. Only by doing so can we hope to achieve
our organizational goals and objectives.
In my
opinion there are more things that unite us than separate
us. Let us put more energy into those things that unite us
rather than to waste our energy on things that separate us.
For the future of the Mandingo people and Liberia is in our
hands.
