Re: I’m
honored
with
Your
Petition

Dear
Beloved
Community
Members
It is
with
great
feeling
of love
and
commitment
to our
community
that I
am
speaking
to you
at this
moment.
First of
all, I
will
like to
sincerely
apologize
to all
FEMAUSA
members, the
Mandingo
community
in
general,
and
particularly
those
who
believe
and
support
my
vision
for the
Mandingo
community
and my
re-election
campaign
for the
presidency
of
FELMAUSA.
I have
heard
your
call
that I
must
continue
to do
the job
you
entrusted
me to do
two
years
ago.
Having
listened
to your
passionate
appeal,
who am I
to say
no. I
have
been
touched
by the
supports
of so
many
people
who have
called
to speak
to me
and
those
that
wrote a
petition.
All of
you that
made the
phone
calls,
met me
personally,
and
wrote
the
letter
of
petition,
I am
very
humble
to
listen
to your
appeal
and
accept
your
call to
duty
with
deep
sense of
humility.
As a
community,
we have
travelled
a long
way to
be where
we are
today.
No
matter
how much
sacrifice
we can
make
today,
others
had made
more
sacrifice
in the
past and
because
of their
sacrifices,
we are
where we
are
today in
our
country-Liberia.
When we
were
targeted
in the
early
90s,
some of
our
brothers
and
sisters
stood up
to
defend
us. Some
paid the
ultimate
price
and our
Community
and our
country are
better
off
today.
The
sustained
peace
and the
democratic
system
of
governance
we enjoy
in our
beloved
country
today is
due to
the
sacrifice
of
others
and the
strong
foundation
of
sacrifice
they laid
is what
FELMAUSA
is
building
upon
today.
If these
beloved
brothers
and
sisters
could
put
their
lives on
the line
to
defend
our
rights
in
Liberia,
no
sacrifice
of any
of us
should
be too
much for
the good
of our
community
and country.
It is
this
conscious
feeling
that has
informed
my own
sense of
commitment
to the
cause of
our
people
in and
out of
Liberia.
I am not
in this
thing
just to
make
name for
myself.
I am in
it
because
I love
my
people
and my
country.
I feel
very
much
obligated
to help
empower
our
people
so that
we can
contribute
towards
progress
in post
war
Liberia.
Based on
this, I
am back
in the
race to
complete
the
projects
we have
already
started.
Once
again I
will
like to
thank
all of
you who
have
come
forward
to urge
me to
come
back in
the
race.
With
your
help, we
can take
the
Mandingo
community
to a
higher
height.
As we
head to
Minnesota
for the
2009
Mandingo
Convention,
I wish
you all
Allah’s
blessing
and
remember,
TOGETHER
WE CAN.
Sincerely
yours
Richmond
Mohamed
Konneh
