The
4th National Convention of the Federation of the
Liberian Mandingo Associations, Felmausa, has
adopted a new constitution which comes
into force with immediate effect.
However, the current structure of the
Federation remains intact and all
offices and responsibilities appertained
thereto including the newly elected
Financial Secretary are deemed
constitutional under the newly adopted
Constitution
During the
spirited adoption process, spanning over
six hours and with emotional moments,
the Felmausa delegates did not lose
track of the need to remain united at
the end of any exercise notwithstanding
the challenges such exercise may
present. The New Felmausa Constitution
was adopted with relatively minor
changes, and now replaces all previous
constitution or By-Laws.
The Chairman of the Constitution Review Process,
Francis Duwana, on behalf of the Constitution
Review Committee, is extending appreciation to
Felmausa’s Chairman and members of the Board of
directors, the National President and
members of the National Administration
and all delegates who patiently
contributed to the process that has now
produced a new road map for the
governance of the umbrella Organization
of Liberian Mandingos in the Diaspora.
Other members of the Constitution review
Committee who facilitated the process were Mr.
Mohammed Sheriff and Mr. Edward Forson Sannoh.
Seven out of the nine Felmausa chapters adopted
the new Felmausa Constitution.
