Fasting Is Prescribe...

Brothers and Sisters in Islam,
Assalaam Alaykum Warrahmatulahe Wabarrakaatuhu

"O ye who believe! Fasting is prescribed to you as it was prescribed to those before you, that ye may (learn) self-restraint." Holy Quran (2:183)

It is with profound conviction and best wishes that I wish my brothers, sisters, and elders in the Muslim community a rewarding journey as they embark on this third day of the holy month of Ramadan. As you recite the third day prayer of the Du’as, may Allah (SWT) peace be upon you, May he give you the strength, and guidance, and accept you as his guest during this Holy month O Allah, on this day, grant me wisdom and awareness, keep me away from foolishness and pretention, grant me a share in every blessing You send down, by Your generosity, O the most Generous”( 3RD Day prayer)

The essence of this journey highlights three importance in the live of every Muslim A) It is the month in which the Qur’an was revealed to mankind from Allah (SWT) through his prophet Mohammed (SAW). The Holy Quran says: "Ramadan is the (month) in which was sent down the Holy Quran, as a guide to mankind, also clear (Signs) for guidance and judgment (Between right and wrong)." (2:185) B) equally important, It is one of the five pillars of Islam. This is obligatory to all true Muslims,  and C) it is the month in which we purify our souls, come closer to Allah and are guest to Allah (SWT) and abundance of his blessings is showered upon us,

May this Holy month see a renewal in our faith, strengthen our love for each other, give us the wisdom to embrace our diversity, and the joy to celebrate our commonality as Liberians. Happy Ramadan.
