PLATFORM 2007-2009 ADMINISTRATION
“UNITY AND EMPOWERMENT FOR THE GOOD OF OUR COMMUNITY”
The goal of the current FELMAUSA administration is to
promote peace and reconciliation within the Liberian
Community in general and the Mandingo community in
particular, to provide educational opportunity, deliver
social services, advocate for social justice and the
creation of a network of vibrant Mandingo Communities in the
Americas as a means of contributing to the economic and
social development of our dear country Liberia.
1. Services/Institutional building
Education Programs
·
Construction of a high school in Liberia to be called
FELMAUSA HIGH SCHOOL
·
Establishment of FELMAUSA Scholarship Fund, which shall be
used to award scholarships annually to deserving students
attending colleges and Universities in Liberia.
·
Annual Back to School Backpack Drive for deserving students
in Liberia
·
Annual recognition ceremony for all high school and college
graduates in order to highlight the importance of education
in our community.
·
Aggressively pursuit the education of Mandingo girls
·
Formulate a data base that shall track ALL the Liberian
Mandingo students in the various colleges and universities
around the world and their areas of studies.
Services
·
Partner with local organizations to create social services
and programs that target the youth, the elderly and women.
·
Create a network of relief structure to response to
disasters affecting members of our community in Liberia and
elsewhere.
·
Mobilize friends of Liberia, Liberians in America to
contribute to the improvement of healthcare delivery system
in Liberia.
2. Advocacy
Legal Services
·
Establishment of a National Mandingo Legal Defense Fund to
address problems facing our community in Liberia
·
Partner with the Liberian Government to advocate for the
return of all properties to their rightful owners in Nimba
County and other parts of the country.
·
Partner with other Liberian organizations in the Diaspora to
address immigration and other pressing issues facing the
larger Liberian Community.
3. Unity/Partnership
·
Partner with the National Mandingo Caucus of Liberia,
Concerned Mandingo Society of Liberia, and all other well
meaning Mandingo associations and organizations to advance
the cause of the Mandingo ethnic group in and outside of
Liberia.
