Profile of FELMAUSA Secretary General: Morris M. Kromah, an asset to FELMAUSA

 

    

Its long trip from the small West African state of Liberia to the United States and it’s a far piece from refugee camp high school to a securing professional field in Health care and community service.  Morris Manjue Kromah has made both journeys, sustained by his remarking gifts, his grace, his intelligence and his sense of caring and community services.

 

Mr. Morris M. Kromah was elected General Secretary of FELMAUSA in June 2007 during the All Mandingo National convention in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.  With nearly six years of experience in Mandingo community leadership at a variety of capacity, Kromah come to FELMAUSA with a strong background in administration, secretariats and innovation in management.

 

Prior to been elected as FELMAUSA General Secretary, Kromah served as General Secretary for the local chapter WIMAM from 2002 to present.  In this position, he was responsible for leading, maintaining and preparing documentations as requested by the membership or executive, Maintain and record all minutes of meetings, in connection with the leadership, prepare and circulate the agenda before every meeting, keep the registration of the organization up to date with local, state and federal governments maintain the list of all members current and keep a detail record of attendance of all events and overseeing the budget.

 

According to his employer Morris Kromah is a hard-working, dedicated and amiable Certified Clinic Medical Assistant, who has the pleasure of helping people and patient that are vulnerable.  He first came to work with Columbia St. Mary's Hospital after studying as clinic Medical Assistant, then completing his certification.  Mr. Kromah is very excited about his work, and enjoys working with patients.  He is friendly and compassionate.  He shows great initiative and shares his ideas with his co-works.

 

He is able to multi-task and organizes clinic tasks effectively.  He was in the first wave of Columbia St. Mary's Hospital “Super-User” for the electronic health record, prior to its rollout at Columbia St. Mary’s clinics.  He was therefore able to serve as a resource and problem-solver at small offices and Germantown Medical Center in Germantown, Wisconsin when the system was implemented.

 

Morris M. Kromah is very intelligent, respectful and soft spoken and has demonstrated his interest and drive in pursuing a career in health care by taking classes at the Milwaukee Area Technical College (MATC) – in the nursing program there-on a part-time basic, after work hours, in the evenings and on weekends.  This he has done in addition to providing for and caring for his family.

 

Mr. Kromah has also shown interest and concern of a wider, more global scope.  He has helped Liberian refugees both in the US and in Liberia.  He has also served several committees in WIMAM which is his local Mandingo community in Milwaukee, and has been instrumental in founding a Federal Liberian Mandingo Association.

 

Mr. Kromah has shown an interest in providing health care to vulnerable individuals to be best of his capability.  As such, he has plans to further his education with an eye to possibly pursuing medical school training down the road as medical doctor.

 

Morris M. Kromah is a graduate of the Bryant & Stratton college-Milwaukee (A.A., Certified Clinic Medical Assistant) and Milwaukee Business Training Institute (Diploma. Administrative Medical Assistant), he is currently finishing his Registered Nursing –Associate degree program at Milwaukee Area Technical College. 

 

Morris M. Kromah is married to Madusu F. Kromah and they are blessed with three children, namely Mariam 9, Mawah 7 and Manjue Kromah four months old.
